Why, when I was your age, I had to walk 20 miles to school, barefoot, in the snow, up a mountain, and did you ever hear me complain? People were tougher back then.

"When I was your age, kids didn't get cellphones until they were old enough to drive."

Srsly tho, I know of a couple of 6 and 8 year-olds who have cell phones...what is the world coming to???

Yeah I know kids who got phones when they were still single-digits. I know a preteen who isn't even 13 yet and is begging her parents to replace her "aging" iPhone.

I told her "Listen buddy, I didn't get a smartphone til I was a sophomore... in college."

My mom teaches fourth graders, and she's constantly having to take away their phones, tablets, etc. during class. Some of them are even writing "LOL" and "OMG" in creative writing class. They don't understand that they aren't actual words.

I do like those television remote controls, but I'm always tripping over the wire.

It's really disgusting if you ask me. And my wife teaches high school english and all of the students got iPads to replace all of their books in school. It's a disaster. Not only were they not prepared to support that much bandwidth, the kids also don't know how to leave Facetime and iMessage alone. It's terrible.

On the plus side though, there is some hope for humanity because she's had an increase in students wanting to check out books.

I can already picture the astonishment on the face of my future grandkids when I tell them I didn't have the Internet when I was their age.
